By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

- Distinguish characteristics of a language difference versus language disorder
- Describe phonetic, linguistic, and paralinguistic characteristics of both English and Spanish
- Identify strategies for recognizing and addressing inherent biases
- List materials and activities which support multilingualism in their workplace
Time ordered agenda:
- 0-5 min: Intro and disclosures
- 5-10 min: DEI definitions
- 10-20 min: Best practices when noting history, determining delay versus disorder, and evaluations
- 20-45 min: Comparison of English and Spanish languages
- 45-50 min: Recognizing biases and suggestions for therapy
- 50-55 min: Case studies
- 55-60 min: Q&A
To earn continuing education credit for this course, participants must:
- Complete the entire course.
- Achieve a 100% passing score on the exam.
- Submit the course evaluation.
